Toe Tapping Fun for the Entire Family!

Here is a great review and Giveaway by Michelle from Powered by Mom! The Giveaway starts Saturday February 18th! Have fun!

I was very excited when I was selected todo the review for Farmer Jason, Nature Jams. I love music and like most peopleI have my favorite bands and genres. However when you grow up with a musician fora father you have no choice but to listen to all types of music, thankgoodness. My father played and loved classical, blues and Jazz of which Icomplained about as a child but it must have sunk in somewhere because as anadult I love it all.

The best way to instill a love of music inchildren is to capture their attention first and keep it there. What better waythan with songs and music you find yourself humming and tapping your toes too!

Before I share my review I’d like to includesome excerpts from the Press Release for Farmer Jason & Buddies Nature Jams.I was amazed when I read who some of the other artists were on this album butthen again it explains a lot as to why the music is so infectious. JasonRingenberg aka Farmer Jason has also won the LifetimeAchievement Award for Live Performance by the Americana Music Association in2008. Read the excerpts below you’ll most likely recognize most if not all ofthe guest artists on this album.

Excerpts From thePress Release

The Review
I listened to the CD and watched the DVD and enjoyed them both. The music is high energy, even funny at times If you listen to the lyrics andyes I did find myself humming some of these songs. One of my favorites wasDison the Bison, why well it stuck in my head, I found myself singing to itmuch to the embarrassment of my 10 year old daughter. It also didn’t hurt thatSteve Gorman of the Black Crowes was on this one too. Speaking of my daughter,Sian I also got her to listen to the CD along with some children of friends wehad over one day. The ages ranged from 6 to 10 years of age.

Here’s a preview for you of one of the songs with video from YouTube – Take a Hike with Mike Mills

At first Sian wastoo old and cool for Farmer Jason until I caught her singing and dancing to thesong “The Glacier”. The older kids you may have to sneak it by them, just playthe CD and I think they’ll find themselves enjoying it even if they didn’t wantto. The younger kids though went nuts over it and I got a few complaints frommy friends their parents that some of them were singing the words to the songs(some correctly some not) non-stop. Oops sorry but as I said they are catchyand you’ll find yourself tapping your toes whether you wanted to or not.

My overall opinion is that Nature Jams is a super family-friendlycollection of songs and videos that are fun and even sneak in a few things toteach the kids. Now for more fun stuff the giveaway, Sugar Mountain PR hasprovided one CD which also has a bonus DVD included with 4 videos. Now go andenter J
