Get Famous-Chapter 1 Blogging Basics

I just recently switched from Blogger to WordPress.  In doing so I lost my Alexa Ranking.  I recently reviewed Get Famous-The Most Amazing Mom Bloggers Resource on the Planet.  I really enjoyed this book and the best part of it was that I started to see results almost immediately.  So I decided to go through each section and show my progress on my blog.

First of all, following the suggestions of Lisa from her book I switched to WordPress. I had wanted to return to WP but was dreading the process.  It wasn’t as bad as I thought. I already had my domain name which I had been using with my Blogger blog for at least six months.  However, the reason my Alexa Ranking dropped on switching platforms was because the originating URL was

I switched my domain to Bluehost and followed the easy instructions on importing all of my blog posts and comments from Blogger to WP.  I have to thank Lady Jane Designs from Swoon Media who helped me with my blog design. She has great tutorials that made the entire process easy!

The rest of Lisa’s suggestions were followed and added to my blog. Here is a screen shot of my Alexa Ranking at the time of the switch.  I will continue updating my progress each week.

    Curious to see the progress…I am using blogger for both my blogs (I’m a google fan, what can I say?)

      Me too Gerry, I was waiting to see if they would change it up a bit but decided to make the switch back to WP again. The plugins are pretty cool on here!
