One of our sons is in the Navy EOD. We are so proud of him. As a small child I knew he would join the Military. One thing I learned from my own life, I wasn’t going to stop my children from doing what they loved.
I am not going to lie, looking at him wearing camouflage pants at around 3 years old and thinking that one day he could be in harm’s way frightened me.
That very day so many years ago I said a prayer for God to protect him if he were to decide to join when he grew up. Of course he did join!
Memorial Day is a day of remembrance to those who have died in the line of Military Service. Today I would like to honor all who have served and who are currently serving in the U.S. Military.
This weekend while we are enjoying family picnics and BBQ’s let’s not forget the sacrifice that our men and women in Military have given for our freedom.
I have shared this video before on another post, but as a mother we all feel the same when our children are serving away from home. A parent’s faith in God is what keeps us strong while they are away from us.
We are so proud of you Chris, we love you and may God continue to bless you! Wishing all of you a safe and Happy Memorial Day weekend!

I have family in the military – both male and female – and I do my best to always honor their choice with my action and words. We can never know the courage or faith that sustains them but we can definitely let them know they are appreciated.
Amen. Thanks for sharing :)
