The Inn at Irving Place
56 Irving Place
New York, NY
The Inn at Irving Place is located in the Gramercy Park Historic District in New York City. As soon as you step inside the building it’s as if you are transported back in time.
Built in the 1800’s, the Inn has been meticulously restored and complimented with beautiful antique furniture of its time.
Upon entering your room soft music from decades past softly plays. The rooms continue the theme of the Victorian era of days gone by.
The twelve rooms are named after well known New Yorkers from the 19th century. The room pictured here is the O. Henry. The attention to detail even included Best Stories of O. Henry for your reading pleasure!
Prices range from $445-$645/night and include all the comforts of home.
The Inn is also home of Lady Mendl’s Tea Salon, which is open 3:00 pm or 5:00 pm Monday-Friday/12 pm, 2:30 pm and 5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday and the Cibar Lounge, open Monday-Wednesday 5:00 pm-1:00 am, Thursday-Friday 5:00 pm- 2:00 am, Saturday 6:00 pm-2:00 am.
We did not get to visit the Cibar Lounge, however we highly recommend that you experience what has been rated to be “The best and most romantic Tea Room in New York City”, Lady Mendl’s Tea Salon.
We made reservations for the 5 course Tea Service and enjoyed wonderful teas, appetizer, finger sandwiches, scones with preserves, their signature cake and chocolate covered strawberries and let’s not forget a glass of champagne!
It is a perfect location for a bridal shower, baby shower, tea parties or any other celebration of your choosing.
Gluten free substitutions are offered upon request with an additional charge.
If you are in the mood for a Romantic Getaway, The Inn at Irving Place also offers a Romance in New York City package!
