Glipho: A New Interactive Platform for Bloggers

Today I stumbled on a site called Glipho, a new blogging platform. Yes, I do say I was intrigued. The format reminded me a bit like Pinterest, however, there were not only images scrolling by, but blog posts!

I decided to create an account. It was very simple to set up as you can see on the Infographic below.  I do admit that I was hesitant to import my posts from WordPress.  My main concern was that I would have some issues with my blog, but thankfully I didn’t!

Duplicate content was another concern. According to an interview with Glipho CEO, Roger Planes by BookMarketingBuzzBlog, “Blogs are imported but automatically tagged in such a way that search engines don’t crawl them. This removes any problems with duplicate content for the originating blog.”

After importing, the only hiccup I noticed was that some, not all, of my images from my posts did not transfer over to Glipho. I haven’t explored why that happened, (probably user error!) but I was able to insert the photos pretty easily.

Glipho : Social Blogging

You are able to publish your posts directly on Glipho or as you normally do on your blog. I think what I love the most is having access to other writers or gliphers as they are called, their blogs and the exposure to an entire new audience.
In my opinion, images/media are a very important piece of a blog post. Glipho has several great features, one of my favorites is being able to drag and drop media directly from Instagram, Picasa, Flickr and YouTube so easily.

I will keep you updated about my experience on Glipho. If you are a published author I really think you should check this out as well! Let me know if you are using it and your thoughts.

Yes I will Jerry. I know, believe me I understand!! It was simple to import my posts or write them right there and export to here. Either way more eyes and networking! Thanks for always stopping in!

Interesting! I was just considering this too but my first thought was duplicate content. Thanks for helping to answer that one, and for sharing your experience so far. I do believe I’ll give it a go now too. Thanks!

It will also increase the ranking of your website on search engines and will drive more traffic to your website.
But unfortunately not every request will get approved.
What Googlebot is looking to see in the Free Local Google
    Advertising Listings is quite another.
